Another week, another total imersion camp, another cooking experience to practice #languages !
This week the 5 teenagers in the English total immersion camp have chosen to cook a Panzanella, an Italian salad with tomatoes, black olives, capers, peppers, anchovies and toasted ciabatta. We were impressed because they managed their budget extremely well, actually only spent half of it!
In addition to the pleasure of cooking and sharing a meal together, the teens learnt and revised a lot of food vocabulary, the verb tenses, including the imperative, which is often used in the kitchen to give and receive directions/orders.
The 5 participants in the camp were reminded that our health and moods depend greatly on what we eat, hence the importance of choosing very good quality ingredients from local/regional producers.
